I graduated from Frostburg State University located in Frostburg, MD in 2011 with my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and again in 2015 with my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a certificate in addiction counseling. I am currently licensed in NC as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist-Associate. My clinical experience includes working with children (aged 5-12), teenagers (aged 13-18) and adults (aged 18+) using evidenced-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy informed practices and interpersonal therapy. I also enjoy using creative approaches such as play, art and music therapies. My belief is that in order to make lasting progress in therapy, it is important to establish a good, strong therapeutic relationship with the client through genuine understanding, empathy and unconditional positive regard. I also believe that it is equally important for the client to feel empowered in the therapy process.
